Mother Messcia Pure Single Rum
Mother Mesccia Pure Single Rum is the result of a unique project by Prince Albert II of Monaco and Luca Gargano. This exceptional creation unites two worlds: the authentic terroir of Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye in Haiti and the artisanal craftsmanship of the Principality of Monaco. Inspired by the Monegasque tradition of Mesccia, a blend of Caribbean rum and European fortified wines dating back to the 17th century, the brand today gives this heritage a contemporary and refined twist.
The rum is made from precious Cristalline sugar cane grown in Haiti by Michel Sajous, fermented for a long time with indigenous yeasts, and then undergoes a first distillation over wood fire. The distillate is then transported to Monaco, where it undergoes a second distillation in a Khote still at the principality's first and only distillery, established in 2017. This double distillation gives it a unique identity: the raw energy of the Haitian terroir, refined by Monegasque expertise.
Mother Mesccia thus embodies the balance between heritage and modernity. This "Mother," the first distillate in the range, paves the way for future expressions aged in old vermouth and Marsala casks, continuing a centuries-old history while simultaneously incorporating a contemporary and ambitious vision.
