Clairin Vaval
Clairin Vaval is produced in the coastal village of Cavaillon in southeastern Haiti. Here, Fritz Vaval runs the Distillerie Arawaks, which has been in his family's hands since 1947.
Fritz owns 20 hectares of land planted with the Madame Meuze sugarcane variety, which is cultivated naturally without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Clairin Vaval is produced from pure sugarcane juice, which is naturally fermented with wild yeasts and distilled in a small still that Fritz built himself, powered by the steam engine of an old locomotive.
Clairin Vaval combines the flavors of the region with aromas of salty sea air, beach sand, and rich botanicals.
