Planteray Mister Fogg Navy Rum Sail N°2

The story of this Planteray Mister Fogg Navy Rum Sail No. 2 begins with a quest. Planteray, along with rum historian Matt Pietrek, embarked on a quest to uncover the origins of Navy Rum, a history that dates back to the 1600s. After four years of researching documents, stories, methods, and origins, this limited edition was created.
The end result is a blend of rums from Barbados (WIRD), Trinidad (TDL), Guyana (GUY), Mauritius (Saint Aubin), and Jamaica (Hampden & NRJ). This blend includes both column and pot still rums, and both molasses and cane juice based rums.
Tasting Notes:
Dried fruit, orange peel, and chocolate on the nose, leading to a rich palate of smoked molasses, caramel, and wood with underlying hints of spice and funk. The finish is smooth and warm, with a lingering sweetness of ripe fruit, honey, and more dried fig.
