Velier Guyana 2004 High Proof - Small batch
Since 1996, Luca Gargano, owner of Velier, has been researching and bottling Demerara Rums with an eye for the unique character of the Guyanese Rum tradition. From 2002, this research took on a "tropical" dimension in the distillery's warehouse, in close collaboration with Demerara Distillers Ltd, led by Chairman Yesu Persaud, with whom Luca has become a "friend, brother, and son" over the years.
Immediately thereafter, in 2005, these selections were bottled in the iconic Velier bottle and the annual bottling began. These Rums became legendary among collectors and are considered to this day to be the most valuable Rums ever sold at auction: Skeldon 1973, Uitvlugt 1985, Diamond 1981, Enmore 1995, and many others.
