La Maison du Rhum Île Maurice 2014 Chamarel batch #5

This La Maison du Rhum Île Maurice Batch 5 was distilled in 2014 by the Rhumerie Chamarel and then matured in different types of barrels. First in new French oak casks, ex-cognac casks and ex-red wine casks and then refined in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and ex-single malt casks.
 The nose opens with fruity notes. The influence of the vessels is noticeable during aeration. Dried fruit, herbs and grains are supported by a molten woody note. The mouth confirms the aromas of the nose. It opens with baked fruit sprinkled with herbs. The aftertaste is long, honey-sweet with herbs.
